Absinthe Vieux Pontarlier is produced by the Vieux Pontarlier anisette, pastis like a drink that was created in 1925 as a replacement for the 1915 prohibited Vieux Pontarlier Absinthe. The manufacturer has already created many Emile Pernot Absinthe and Absinthe for the company that produces Liqueurs de France. It is actually an export product for the regulated U.S. market, which cannot include such strong Absinthes. There is no presugaring in the Vieux Pontarlier Absinthe. The taste results exclusively from the used herbs like anise, fennel, wormwood and absinthe other specific plants. Pontarlier was once the capital of Absinthe and this is a small rarity, since it is already 100 km from Pontarlier only to find it very hard in the relevant stores.
